When our friends at Natoora told us they would be taking part in the summer festival I got a little excited at the prospect of not only attending the event, but also being able to design something for it.

For those not aware of this sumptuous festival I’ll explain a little about it. The festival happens twice a year, once in the summer and again in the winter. This year’s summer festival was held in Regent’s Park and promised to be the biggest and best ever! They did not disappoint!

Businesses of all sizes are in attendance, from artisan producers to worldwide brands and small niche eateries to legendary fine dining establishments. There is an abundance of food and drink to be had and you are only ever a few yards away from a freebie or two. Including samples of the delicious white peaches from Natoora.

This year Natoora were on the same stall as master chef  Theo Randall, supplying all the fruit and vegetables for the shared stand. Interstate designed part of the stand including some large format posters, smaller sized chalkboards as well as limited edition bags that were given away with signed copies of Theo Randall’s latest book. The stand was always busy and the peaches were a big hit with everyone waiting for food.

Being from Scotland I did not let the good ol’ Scottish weather of rain showers ruin my evening. I ate the finest cuisine from some of London’s top restaurants. I drank Pina Colada from the inside of a scooped out pineapple and I rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s best chefs, not to mention the excitement of seeing the work we produced being used in the real world. As a designer there is nothing better than seeing your work out there and I’m sure every designer still gets that feeling of pride regardless of the scale of the job.

The official Formula-e race car has been on show at Westfield Shopping Centre, White City – so we took the opportunity to go get a close-up look of one of the stars of the show and take in the ‘electric’ atmosphere.

If this taster is anything to go by we are in for a real treat this race weekend at Battersea Park!

Last weekend, the Interstate team took themselves along to the BBC Good Food Eat Well Show down the road at Olympia, London.

The exhibition brought together healthy food brands and producers alongside an inspirational line-up of healthy eating chefs and celebs. An opportunity to discover how to balance a healthy lifestyle with a love of good food.

The highlight for us was to see the BBC Good Food Eat Well book series on display – very popular it was too! 

Not only did we leave with full stomachs and bags of tasty foods, but also minds full of inspiration and ideas to share with our clients!

The book, published by Ebury Publishing and lovingly designed here at Interstate, is intended to inspire parents to create ‘proper’ meals to delight children and adults alike (..albeit later with a touch of salt and a glass of wine!)

We are so pleased to see the amazing online reactions this beautiful, Bristolian book has received –  we think they speak for themselves…

Interstate have been hard at work recently designing and crafting a new identity for South-West based coffee specialists Voyager Coffee.

The Voyager brand was launched at The Source Trade Show 2015 this week, and Andrew Tucker –  Managing Director at Voyager is excited about the new look and feel – “The brand does everything we wanted it to and more besides to really help us stand out from the competition and project us forward in the market”.

We’re delighted with the results and we are looking forward to seeing Voyager Coffee on our shelves and in our cups.

Interstate, Lamborghini and Monster teamed up to deliver a high performance audio extravaganza within the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, two like-minded brands, playing two different soundtracks coming together in perfect harmony.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Monster further enhanced one of the most dramatic super sports cars of a generation, the 750hp Lamborghini Veneno Roadster by installing a unique cutting edge 1,500 watt audio system. The product of a lifetime love for Lamborghini by the Head Monster, Noel Lee and his new business partner, producer Swizz Beatz, the Veneno’s Pure Monster Sound was an experience “not for the faint-hearted”. Quiet appropriate for such a car.

Interstate’s role in all of this – to bring together a $4.5 million dollar hyper-car and a $50k sound system in what is surely a modern day version of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde at the world’s largest electronics show. With a pressing deadline we created an attention grabbing, sophisticated piece of printed collateral to explain the story behind these two powerhouses sharing the world sound stage. Going from a design studio in London to Las Vegas printers in a matter of days.

This partnership went on to be one of the feel good stories of CES 2014, deservedly featuring in a majority of reviews for the top 10 products from the show as well as attracting the cameras of US networks and social commentary from celebrity visitors.

As mentioned on an earlier post, we’ve been busy working on a new brand for the Samsung Smart Motorsport Porsche Carrera Cup Team. This comprised of a launch night in the Porsche Centre, Mayfair; a glittering night where the new livery was unveiled. But we’d been busy much earlier slowly dressing the cars each time they went out for performance testing at circuits at home and abroad.

Next step is the first race, on Easter weekend at Brands Hatch. Good luck team!

Samsung Electronics UK today announces its partnership with InterGTM to run a hand selected team in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship. The InterGTM team, will enter as ‘Samsung Smart Motorsport’ and the partnership will be used to showcase the Samsung Smart TV product range through innovative content such as the team’s first promo film which has been shot in Ultra HD.

“Despite the obvious synergies in technological performance between the cars and our televisions, for Samsung this is much more than just a sponsorship,” said Guy Kinnell, Director and Head of TV/AV, Samsung UK and Ireland. “This is about using Samsung’s relentless innovation and passion for excellence to help raise the bar in motorsport.”

InterGTM has charged Michael Meadows and Richard Kent to lead their on-track assault. Both drivers shone in junior single-seater series as they looked to reach Formula One, but have since switched to GT racing and recognise the career opportunity offered by Samsung Smart Motorsport’s entry into the category.

Michael who is the reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion will work with GT rookie Kent to help deliver the programme objectives both on and off-the track, with both drivers getting the opportunity to act as ambassadors for a blue-chip brand.

“With Samsung Smart Motorsport we have attempted to create a platform that can genuinely showcase blue-chip brands,” said Nick Downes, Managing Director, InterGTM. “We have selected two fantastic young drivers, both of whom are energetic and ambitious – not only to win championships, but to develop their respective careers off-track. We hope this partnership will start to outline what can be achieved in motorsport.”

“We have been working very closely with Samsung to help create a scalable platform which can grow throughout motorsport and help socialise its brand and products to a very loyal and knowledgeable audience,” said Paul Mace of InterGTM.

“We’re confident that we can help them achieve their objective of contributing to positive change within the sport, whist concurrently driving new business opportunities which will help qualify their investment.”

Porsche Carrera Cup runs on the UK’s premium motorsport package, TOCA, and will provide Samsung an opportunity to engage with more than 35,000 fans at each event and a further 19m viewers via live TV coverage on ITV.

The first race of the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup GB will mark the championship’s 200th race and also the 50th of the remarkable 911 model. In a decade the Porsche Carrera Cup has generated over £40m for the British Motorsport Industry.

’15-Minute Meals’ sold a whopping 117,911 copies in the week to 15 December and over 586,355 since it’s release at the end of September. What a great end to the year!
