La Boca via Concrete Hermit25th February 2011
Last night was the opening of the pop-up shop for ‘design circus’ La Boca. The location was in Kingly Court (off Carnaby Street), in association with independent gallery and shop, Concrete Hermit.
In the temporary shop was a plethora of prints, one-offs from their archive, T-shirts and DC Recordings vinyl. Featuring in the collection of prints was a beautiful teaser poster for Darren Aronofsky’s film, The Black Swan. Simple, graceful and striking, I simply can’t get enough of these Soviet-propaganda-inspired posters. Shame the whole collection of posters wasn’t displayed but the agency was limited to the amount they could show off due to the size of the location.
Concrete Hermit is an independent store showcasing work by a number of great artists including Kid Acne, Ian Stevenson, Seb Lester and Mr Bingo, selling prints, clothing apparel and books. With a permanent store in the east end’s trendy Shoreditch, you have no excuse not to drop by and check out the great work they have on offer.
La Boca’s shop is open at Kingly Court, London W1 and will remain open from February 25th to March 12th.
