Over the past few months we have been busy designing a fresh new identity for the ‘Grand Prix Trust’ – a charity that supports past and present F1 mechanics, engineers and their families in times of need.

Founder and trustee of the charity, Sir Jackie Stewart recently unveiled the new identity at the Williams Conference Centre and gave everyone a taster of what is to come.

We’re excited with how the project is developing and we are looking forward to revealing more of the brand over the coming months – helping give this great cause the limelight it deserves.

Movember update http://www.interstateofmind.com/movember-update/ http://www.interstateofmind.com/movember-update/#comments Thu, 01 Dec 2011 12:29:29 +0000 http://www.interstateofmind.com/?p=1837 Well, it is now the 1st of December and Movember has flown by!

We at Interstate were keen to get stuck in, grow some cracking mo’s and raise as much as we could for Movember. The 1st of November brought some unfamiliar faces into the studio with people, including myself, shaving off beards, mutton chops and a whole host of other styles, in preparation for a month of mo growing from scratch.

The cold November mornings brought an unfamiliar chill to my face as I had been sporting a ‘tidy beard’ (as Jim called it) for a good year or so now, and my clean shaven face was reminisant of a 15 year old version of myself, but it was all in the name of charity so I wasn’t going to complain.

We all signed up to Movember individually, and formed like Voltron to create our Interstate team, headed up by myself, to which we instantly starting pestering family and friends, posting blogs and tweets, and generally spreading the word in hope of bringing in donations to get the ball rolling, and boy did we get the ball rolling!

As the month passed, there was plenty of excitement at each donation that came in, some friendly competitive attitudes to the mo growing and money raising, and a bit of friendly banter aimed at those not so fortunate in the mo growing department (myself included). Certain members blossomed, growing mo’s even Tom Selleck would be proud of!

Now the month is over, there is a sigh of relief as the growing ends and the heavy weight of a mo on the top lip is removed. It’s been a very entertaining month, and we at interstate are proud to announce that we managed to raise a whopping £645!

To everyone who was kind enough to donate, thank you very much! We are very grateful for every penny that was donated to our efforts, it’s great to know we had the support of our family and friends.

As a reward for your kind efforts, here is a shot of the Interstate chaps taken just a few days ago. What a stunning bunch…!

I believe that if you were unable to donate during November, but are keen to, you still can! Here is the link again to our Interstate team page.

Movember http://www.interstateofmind.com/movember/ http://www.interstateofmind.com/movember/#comments Tue, 01 Nov 2011 12:54:36 +0000 http://www.interstateofmind.com/?p=1797 It’s that time of year again where men all across the world stand tall, unite, take action and….grow a moustache.

Yep, that’s right, it’s Movember! And Interstate are this year already in full swing raising money for this fantastic campaign.

For those who may not be so familiar with Movember, allow me to fill you in:

“During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face and then for the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.”

Since Movember was first created in 2004, it has been growing at a rapid rate, and raising a fantastic amount of money. in 2010, in the UK alone, £11.7 million was raised!

The majority of the gents at Interstate were more than willing to sacrifice their ‘street cred’ for the month of November to help support Movember.

It is now the 1st of November, the 1st day of Movember, and we have some very clean shaven faces in the studio including my own, which is proving to be interesting as I have myself been sporting a beard for the last year.

We joined Movember last week and are already steadily raising a tidy little sum of money!

If you are feeling charitable and wish to support Interstate in raising money for a good cause, then you are able to donate to the team here.

Your contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Please keep checking back to the blog for progress updates, and pictures of incredibly silly moustaches!

*For Charity

Interstate have recently designed the identity for a charity 6-a-side football tournament to take place at West Ham United’s Upton Park this summer. The event, scheduled for Wednesday June 9th (two days before the World Cup gets underway in South Africa) has been arranged by management consultancy Value Partners and aims to raise a substantial amount of money for the One to One Children’s Fund’s fight against HIV and AIDS amongst African children.

One to One Children’s Fund have teamed up with local partner Whizzkids United (WKU) and have developed a successful model which combines a sustainable HIV/AIDS school education Life Skills programme with football training and a “World Cup” graduation tournament. One to One and WKU recently launched a one year HIV prevention pilot programme in Rustenburg in the North West Province in South Africa – Rustenburg is a 2010 World Cup venue and will be the base camp and training ground for the England team. More information about this initiative and all One to One’s other good causes can be found on their website, www.one2onekids.org.

The London 6-a-side tournament has already received great interest and the sixteen team allocations are being reserved fast. As well as contributing to the great cause described above participants also get the chance to play football on the famous Upton Park pitch and, if they reach the final, play in a match officiated by the 2002 Fifa World Cup final referee Pierluigi Collina.

The tournament's master identity

The identity and naming for the event was inspired by the simple fact that everyone involved has one incentive – playing for charity. The ‘For Charity’ element lent itself nicely to a typographic twist of F.C. (Football Club) and so the name Play F.C. was evolved. The bold execution of the logo is reflected through a selection of impactful statements and calls to action with the aim of generating interest and encouraging involvement and support of the cause. An event website featuring the identity has recently been launched and a full set of event collateral is currently in progress, previews of which will appear on the blog soon.
