It’s due for release at the end of next month, and is filled with over 100 recipes exploring our diverse food culture. We’ll tell you all about it when it’s published, but until then here’s a little sneaky peak…

Brands can’t fail to be palatable when iced on top of a dozen cupcakes. Even the most unlikely brands, tobacco giant Marlboro and banking conglomerate HSBC seem to leave a sweeter taste behind. This takes corporate merchandising to a whole new level; something to remember if we run out of umbrella and baseball cap visuals!

Created by London based Crumbs and Doilies, order online or visit their market stalls at Kings Road (10am – 4pm every Saturday) and inside Chocodeli, Upper Tachbrook Street (Friday and Saturday).

This time last week we visited our client; Hardie Grant, to take a look at the proof sheets for a cook book we’ve been designing these past few months. We can’t reveal too much just yet, but we can tell you that it’s filled with recipes by Andy Harris, who embraces the wealth of flavours that Morocco has to offer, all of which are brought to life by beautiful photography and illustrations from David Loftus. It’s due for release in the Spring of 2011, so watch this space…

A few days ago I received an e-newsletter from Amazon showcasing some of their bestselling books including the recently published ‘The Geometry of Pasta’. Judging a book by it’s cover I thought it would be a lovely piece of information design about the many different pasta types but I never imagined it to be a fully functioning cookbook. The graphic approach is unexpected and simple, yet so successful in it’s concept. Author, (Michelin starred chef) Jacob Kenedy educates the reader on the benefits of using specific pasta shapes with complementary sauces in over 100 recipes, and also introduces a brief history of each type of pasta featured. Caz Hildebrand, Creative Partner at Here Design, designed the book which has been printed entirely in black and white, using simple vector illustrations an understated typography.
