Designed by architects Waugh Thistleton, it is the brainchild of Roger Wade of Boxfresh and real estate developers Hammerson, who were behind Birmingham’s Bullring.

No high street retailers, says BOXPARK,  –  Just selected, ground-breaking brands by invitation only to create a revolutionary mix – and simply great products – that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Surprisingly we found mostly big street brands: Nike/Oakley/Levis/Penguin/Vans/Lacoste/Dockers but it’s nice to see a Phaidon’s store in the mix too and Urbanears. Some ‘box-shops’ will also be offered to local creative industries and organisations at preferential rates to ensure BOXPARK always involves and enhances every community it joins.

We like it: it’s bold, solid, unexpected and fun, keeps street brands in one central place away from the local streets.

Not so sure: Not innovative enough with the selection of brands, not all units are occupied yet

Boxpark will have the site for the next 5 years when it will be replaced by 2,000 homes.
