Tilt-shift your perceptions1st March 2011
An example of a very ‘of-the-moment’ photographic technique. When done properly, your image can be made to resemble a miniature model. It’s all to do with depth of field and focusing – all rather complex – and Wikipedia sums up tilt-shift photography better than I do here.
These are a couple of my attempts. To make it ‘real’ I find you need to be looking down and prompts need to be in shot that feel associated with models; such as little people, vehicles, bright ‘fake’ colours etc.
There are iPad/iPhone apps and tutorials to be found on the web.
